GRAND JUNCTION, CO – The civil rights and anti-war movements in the 1960s were defined in part by protests, rallies, marches, and of course, teach-ins. Local activists are bringing that radical form of public education to the Grand Valley, and Sunday’s teach-in on racism, which attracted hundreds of attendees, was the inaugural event.
Local activists Jay Bishop, David Hood, Shannon Robinson, and others talked about the history of racism in Grand Junction, how to be an ally, and one’s rights under the Constitution to protest.
