We’re huge animal lovers here at the Grand Valley Free Press, so starting this week we will be debuting our “Pets of the Week”, courtesy of the Roice-Hurst Humane Society! All of these adorable animals are available for adoption, so if you have any questions or would like to pay them a visit, please contact the Humane Society for more information.

Shadow is an 8 year old, spayed female, possibly some type of Shepherd mix. She is very sweet and likes to be with people. She seems to do well with kids and other dogs. Shadow should not go to a home with cats. She would do great with a home that enjoys doing things, but is also okay with a more mellow lifestyle.

Gizmo: He is approximately 3 1/2 years old, neutered male, possibly a chihuahua mix. He is a great dog. Would do well in a home as the only pet as he loves to get love from his person and be the center of attention. He can be a little shy at first, but is great once he has warmed up to you.

Tigger is approximately 1 1/2 years old, neutered male, domestic longhair. He is a very loving cat who really enjoys snuggles with other people. He would do okay in a home with a calmer dog and older kids. He has lived with other cats, but may prefer to be the only cat in the home. He mainly needs a calmer, less stressful environment to thrive.
