GRAND JUNCTION, CO – College students Justin Jolley and Alycen Reinhart have organized a protest that will take place on Monday, July 27th, during rush hour at 4:30. Protesters will be standing in front of the Colorado Mesa University sign on the corner of 12th and North.
Interested community members are welcome to participate and are encouraged to bring signs. Messages and calls to action on the signs are especially needed that will remind the drivers passing by that the Black Lives Matter movement is not a momentary trend.
“We just want to show people we are still here, and we still care about Black lives,” Jolley said.
The demonstration will last for about an hour. Organizers plan to make this a weekly occurrence to serve as a reminder to the community that Black lives matter and always will.
